Baja Rosi's Closure
Dear Consignors, Customers and friends;
This is a very difficult message for us to send. After many years of being part of this wonderful community, we have made the very difficult decision to close this store on behalf of our mom, Diane. We are writing to you as the Daughters of Diane and on her behalf because we have had to step in during what has become an incredibly difficult and painful time for our family and for Baja Rosi's.
After more than 22 years of service to this community Baja Rosi's has closed it's doors. This was not the way our mom ever imagined this chapter ending. She built this store with an extraordinary amount of hard work, love, energy, and determination for more than 10 years, it was not simply a business to her. It became a part of our family's life and we know a part of the lives of many of you as well.
As her daughters, we have had to intervene and make some very difficult decisions to protect our mom, and her health. One of those decisions was to close much earlier than we had ever anticipated. This is as sudden to us as it is to you.
Unfortunately, circumstances changed very quickly, during what has been the slowest season in the history of the store. Despite best efforts, the business has reached a point that it is no longer financially viable in the current economic environment.
We understand how upsetting this may be, particularly for those of you who were expecting to have additional time. We are deeply sorry that we were not able to provide more notice. We know that many of you trusted us and we do not take that lightly.
There is another difficult matter that we feel we must address honestly. We understand that there will be questions about outstanding balances we do not want to give any one incorrect information so we are not able to provide details or payments at this time. We understand that this is difficult to hear.
For those consignors that have unsold items currently under contract at the store these items will be available to pick up, as well as the items that had been previously requested in the last 30 days, they are already set aside for pick up. We will take appointments over the coming week so that everyone has an opportunity to retrieve their belongings. Due to the short amount of time we have to vacate the premises we are giving priority to those with a current 45 day contract.
For those with items that are expired/forfeited (outside of the 45 day contract) they may be returned if time allows. We will do our best to make this process as straight forward and organized as possible.
Please contact us via bajarosis@gmail.com or call the store at 250-391-6033 to arrange a pick up. Email is better if you can. Please include the name your contract is under.
Baja Rosi's has had a place in this community for more that 22 years. What began as a business and a dream for our mom became so much more to our family. Many of you have been consignors and shoppers from the first day. So many have become friends and some we consider family.
We have watched our mom pour more than 10 years of her life, energy, heart and finally her health into this store. Closing it's doors this way is heartbreaking for her and for all of us who have been a part of her journey. We know there will be questions, frustration, and disappointment. We may not have every answer right now, but we will communicate as clearly and as honestly as we can as we work through what is next.
Thank you for the years of trust, support, friendship and memories. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who walked through those doors whether it was once or hundreds of times. We will never forget what Baja Rosi's has meant to our mom and to our family.
With heavy hearts, as well as gratitude
On Behalf of Diane & Baja Rosi's.
A small note from the daughters, for those of you that so quickly reached out with care and concern thank you. Your kind words mean so much and is what will help us through this time.
Sincerely; Sheli and Sheri.
The above has been sent as an email to our database, we understand some have not recieved this email, so we are posting it here.
Please note if you have not consigned in the last 60 - 90 days we may not respond.
We have spent hours reading, replying and looking up people's accounts going back as far as 2013. We must first and foremost deal with the most current items in the store. We are working as fast as we can and doing the best we can given the circumstances. Thank you for your patience as we work throught this difficult time.
